Songs That Go Straight To The Heart...

So, the latest SoGo Blog was talking about those songs that seem to stop you in your tracks when you hear them... where you have to stop for a moment to just listen to them, and then you find yourself hitting the back button on your iPod or trying to type the lyrics you remember into Google to figure out what song it is... yeah... I am a music teacher, so music has always played a large role in my life, but these are my top ten "stopped me in my tracks" songs of all time... beware... I am a lyric junkie... and a sapp queen!!!

1. "No Envy, No Fear" - Joshua Radin

This song is a song that can get you through your insecurities... and tells you that nothing can be done alone... that home is never a lonely place. It tells you to not be afraid to fly and soar and be a hero, because you already are one.

2. "Once When I Was Little" - James Morrison

An AMAZING song that tries to take us back to our childhood, when things were simpler and we had hope in everyone. There was no evil, and you beleived that everything would be okay in the end.

3. "So Small" - Carrie Underwood

You get to points in your life when you are looking to face something so big... at least it seems so big at the time. When you take a step back, you may find that it might not be a huge mountain that you are staring at, but a grain of sand.

4. "Anyway" - Martina McBride

This is one that tells us that crap is going to happen along the way, but that is no reason for us to not keep going and do the things we love and the things that we think matter. do them Anyway.

5. "Heaven Was Needing A Hero" - JoDee Messina

A sad, but beautiful song about those that get taken away from us too soon. It may not be how we imagined it would be, but maybe they were needed somewhere else. Inspired by the troops.

6. "You Fill My Heart" - Jason Walker

A beautiful love song that shows true love from the beginning, knowing that someone else can fill your heart. Literally took my breath away when I heard it in its entirety the first time.

7. "Between The Minds" - Jack Savoretti

Another song about love that talks about the love between people that makes it that you can know what the other is thinking and the desperation in that love and keeping it alive...

8. "True Companion" - Marc Cohn

The BEST wedding song ever. It was my best friend and her husband's first dance, and is now one of my favorite songs of all time. All about finding your true companion, and that in the end, when the world grows dark around you, look forward to your true companion waiting for you always.

9. "Never Say Never" - The Fray

I just fell in love with this song... just Never Say Never...

10. "If You Want Me To" - Ginny Owens
A Christian song about having to go through a bunch of randomness, but knowing that there is a reason for all that we are put through. Highly recommended... even if you aren't someone who beleives.
