So, I was running today... a beautiful Easter Sunday!!! And around mile 4 and a half, I was realizing that all the songs that I was skipping had one thing in common... they weren't from One Tree Hill... now... those of you that really know me, know that I am a music fan to the craziest degree. One Tree Hill with its like 5-10 songs an episode fuels that fire like no other. P.D. and I always talk about the music on the show, and my SBFF Kaitlin and I do as well. I always tell Denise though, that Lindsay Wolfington is my hero, so I would like to share with you what I think have been the Lindsay Wolfington slam dunks on my favorite show... the songs that I feel in love with because of a scene or because they are DARN AMAZING songs that I would not have been introduced to if not for her and Mark Schwahn and their love of music. I would also like to note that a lot of these are season 5 and season 6 because I think that the show has only gotten BETTER in their musical endeavors. So...(In no particular order)
LINDSAY'S SLAM DUNKS!!
1. "You Fill My Heart" - Jason Walker
No joke, I'm going to dance to this at my wedding. Was for a Naley scene in 5X03, when they sit down for dinner together after Nathan finally realizes what he has to live for. A BEAUTIFUL SONG.
2. "Been A Long Day" - Rosi Golan
The coda song for the episode 6X13 where Nathan is on the phone with Haley and Jamie and Lucas comes home after finding out Peyton is pregnant. Another GORGEOUS SONG! She is now one of my favorite artists.
3. "You Found Me" - The Fray
The coda song for episode 6X16 where Julian shows Brooke the kind of person she is now, they do the final script read, and Lucas shows up at Peyton's doctor's appointment.
4. "My Home Town" - Bruce Springsteen
The beginning song for 5X12 when Jamie drives on Luke's lap in the mustang and Peyton dreams about her and Lucas getting married while driving by the church. A Classic Song...
5. "Where I Stood" - Missy Higgins
During the flashback proposal in 5X05 where Peyton says someday. When you listen to the lyrics they'll blow you away to how perfect they are for the Lucas/Peyton relationship in season 5.
6. "It's Tricky" - Run DMC
Every time I hear this song I picture Nathan and Mouth dancing in 4X12... hysterical, and one of my favorite scenes just because of the music!
7. "Feel This" - Bethany Joy Galeotti feat. Enation
In the ending coda of season 5 during the finale when all three women answer the phone and we don't know who Lucas proposed to... holy crap... good job with that. Excellent placement of the song.
8. "After Afterall" - William Fitzsimmons
The perfect song for "the suprise" act of 6X17 with Lucas and Peyton and all they were dealing with regarding the pregnancy and their future together.
9. "Burgundy Shoes" - Patty Grifffin
When everyone is signing Jimmy Edwards yearbook in 4X19. The mood fits perfectly.
10. "Never Tear Us Apart" - INXS
Okay, I know that this is like a scandal Slam Dunk because now it will never be heard again (unless you are addicted to youTube), but this is the original song for 5X12 when Carrie kidnaps Jamie and Lindsay runs out on Lucas at the church. It is CRAZY how amazing this songs fits, and it's a shame that it can be syndicated with it.
11. "Once When I Was Little" - James Morrison
I became obsessed with this song after it was used in 6X15 for the ending Coda when Lucas finally gives Peyton Keith's ring.
12. "Life Is Beautiful" - Vega4
The gang is arriving and getting ready for Prom at Tree Hill High. Peyton comes down the stairs and the music hits its chorus just before she hears the knock on the door and opens it to see not Lucas, but Ian Banks.... holy Hannah, that was dramatic. The song made it though.
13. "God Bless The Child" - Michelle Featherstone
The only song with words used in 3X16 at the end when Jimmy Edwards shot himself, Luke carries out Peyton, and... well... you know the rest.
14. "Quiet In My Town" - Civil Twilight
The Coda song of 6X03... which is the episode of Quentin's funeral. Amazing song. Amazing episode.
15. "Lesson Learned" - Ray LaMontagne
The Coda of 4X09 when Haley gets hit by the car, and Lucas has his heart attack after the state championship.
16. "Heartbeats" - Jose Gonzales
I can't listen to this song on any other show because of how perfect it was in this one. Used in 4X09 as Lucas tells Peyton "it's you" and is also used in the flashbacks of 5X05 to get Luke to realize that he needs to see Peyton in L.A.
17. "Coffee & Cigarettes" - Michelle Featherstone
Used as Peyton says "I love you too" to Lucas during their reenactment of the Naley proposal at the rehearsal dinner in 3X21 and continues into Peyton telling Brooke that she still has feelings for Lucas.
18. "Save You" - Matthew Perryman Jones
The coda of 6X19 when Peyton is going through her memory box, that we assume is for baby Scott. Beautiful song...
Okay.... now I'm cutting myself off, so I'm going to dare to be different and make it a top 18 list. No Joke, these songs are songs that you should all get, because they are AMAZING songs. Once you get them and listen to them again, rewatch the scenes that they are in, and it makes it all the more enjoyable.
On a few serious notes, thank you to Lindsay Wolfington for opening so many people up to such amazing music. In this show my love for beautiful lyrics and meaningful sounds is renewed, so thanks for all of you unbeleivable hard work on the show!

Hey! Yesterday I've completed my running playlist, but I wish someone could give me some ideas for songs that are good for jogging in some medium tempo. I'm no pro, still adjusting to the wole runnning activity!

Way to give a shout out to the divine Patty Griffin and her Burgandy Shoe deliciousness. Mad props to her...she's on my list of people I wish I could sing like...kind of reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt :)
I wouldn't mind seeing a Volume 2 of this blog topic! Cuz I know you could've gone on and on and on!
thanks stephanie! i love your picks!

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have a playlist dedicated solely to songs from OTH and it is all I ever really listen to. Your top picks are amazing and I totally agree with the INXS song from Season 5. I miss it every time I watch the DVD.
