Friends and Music... Make Your Playlist

Friends and Music....two things that really can't steer you wrong.

I was spending time with friends today, and marveling at the beauty that is friendship... you know?? Like the really good friends, not just acquaintances, but the ones who know you, and know your stories. Three of my favorite people in a room, my closest friends, and I couldn't have been happier. There is something to be said about having someone that you can cry to every now and then, freak out to, laugh at and with, talk to on the phone for hours, obsess over random things, and just love in that "you're like a brother or a sister to me" kind of way.

I love my friends and they are my family, and you three especially know who you are...

It made me also think of music, because that can do the same thing. I was reading a post in a production company's blog (it's in my links on blogger in case you were wondering), and it inspired me a bit, because one of the posters was talking about going to see a play and there was this moment that she loved, and realized that was one of the reasons she chose to produce what she was producing. Every now and then a song comes on, and you kind of stop for a moment and go... "wow... that was damn good" or it makes you think of something from another time.

I will forever think of Anne when I hear "Build me up Buttercup" for her hidden back up singer talents. I will ALWAYS think of Abbie when I hear the first chords of "Does He Love You".

I will also always cry when I hear "Christmas Shoes" or "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning". I will always think that it could be worse and I need to keep going when I hear "So Small."

So, I guess I'm telling everybody to make a playlist sometime this week of all those songs... the ones that have the good and the bad memories... the ones that make you laugh or make you cry, and just listen to some music for a while. Do some remembering, listen to some life anthems... and enjoy!
